
Kathmandu, April 12: The Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police has taken action against 101 drivers today for violating the traffic rule. The Traffic Police has been running a Surprise Checking campaign off late.
Under the campaign conducted at various locations in the Valley, action was taken against those who were found to be violating traffic rules, including driving under the influence of alcohol.
During the checking, five drivers were found driving under the influence of alcohol, two violated red traffic light, while 94 drivers were found not following lane discipline and violating other traffic rules, shared Spokesperson of the Valley Traffic Police Office, SP Naresh Raj Subedi.
Meanwhile, the Traffic Police Office has also urged passengers to immediately report any suspicion of the driver being under the influence of alcohol or drugs to the nearest police office, the traffic control room hotline number 103, and the police hotline number 100.
