Global IME Bank has launched Nepal’s first Non-Resident and Overseas Banking Division (NROBD) to provide dedicated banking services to Nepali citizens living abroad.
The division was inaugurated on Thursday by the bank’s Chairman Chandra Prasad Dhakal, who is also President of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, during a program held in Kathmandu.
The new department will offer services including account opening, credit processing, transaction banking, capital market services and portfolio management. Overseas Nepalis can access these services through the NROBD office in Naxal, as well as via phone, email and the bank’s international offices and representatives.
Chairman Dhakal said the initiative aims to strengthen the connection between Nepalis living abroad and their homeland by providing convenient and transparent banking services.
Chief Executive Officer Surendra Raj Regmi said the department reflects the bank’s commitment to supporting the aspirations, investments and families of Nepali citizens abroad.
Established in 2007, Global IME Bank has expanded its international presence with remittance networks, partnerships with global banks and offices in the United Kingdom, Australia and India. The bank also has representatives in 10 countries serving the Nepali diaspora.
