Bhojpur, Dec 9: Authorities have closed a mining industry illegally run at Leguwaghat of Arun Rural Municipality-6 in Bhojpur district. The industry was run for long without complying with any legal procedure, officials said.
Chief of District Coordination Committee Kamal Thulung said that the industry was closed following the monitoring from the officials since the crusher was found illegally extracting the natural resources from the site.
The District Coordination Committee is also carrying out monitoring of other crusher industries in the district, Thulung added.
Thulung stated that the crusher industry is prevented from operating its business until fulfilling the legal procedures.
The industry was run within 300 metres from a motorable bridge along the Leguwa-Bhojpur road section and is also just 60 away from the riverbank.
A crusher industry should be at least 500 metres away from the human settlement but it is within 350 metres away from Leguwa bazaar in Bhojpur district and Ram bazaar district.
