A nationwide curfew has been imposed by the Nepali Army in response to the current situation in the country.
According to an official statement, the curfew will remain in effect until 5 PM today and will continue through the night until 6 AM tomorrow.
The army stated that the decision follows a rise in violent and unlawful activities carried out under the guise of a movement.
Incidents cited include vandalism, arson, looting of public and private property, physical assaults, and attempted sexual violence. The curfew aims to prevent further escalation of such activities.
Essential service vehicles — including ambulances, fire engines, and those operated by health workers and security personnel — will be allowed to operate during the curfew hours.
