
Jhapa, Sept 1: The agricultural products worth Rs 1.32 billion were exported from the Kakarbhitta Customs Point in the first month of the current fiscal year 2082/83 BS.
The Office of the Plant Quarantine and Pesticide Management Centre in Kakarbhitta shared that the major exported goods include black cardamom, tea, ply, ginger, broom grass and others.
Information Officer of the Office, Santosh Thapa, shared that the largest amount of money was earned from the export of tea. During the period of Sawan month (the first month of the current FY), tea worth Rs 380 million was exported followed by black cardamom of Rs 324 million. Likewise, plywood and veneer worth Rs 268 million were exported.
Information Officer Thapa added that the customs point imported agricultural goods worth Rs 1.69 billion in the same period of the current fiscal year. The country imported millet, beans, legumes, rice, fresh vegetables, fruits, garlic, potatoes, maize and feeds of the livestock from the Kakarbhitta Customs Point in the first month of running fiscal year.
