
A man is in a serious condition after being bitten by a shark at a beach in South Australia (SA).
SA Police said in a statement that emergency services were called to the Port Noarlunga beach, 27 km southwest of central Adelaide, about 9:45 a.m. on Thursday after reports that a man swimming in the water had been bitten by a shark.
He was helped from the water and treated at the scene by ambulance paramedics before being taken to the hospital in a serious condition.
The SA Ambulance Service said the man had an injury to his thigh.
SA Police said that swimmers at the beach have been evacuated from the water.
