
Kathmandu, Jan 19: The Nepali Congress (NC) has condemned the attack on party's Koshi Province President, Uddhav Thapa, on Saturday.
A group of individuals allegedly attacked him near Surunga of Kankai rural municipality as he was returning from the Nepal Press Union Jhapa's event. Thapa, the NC parliamentary party leader for the Province and the former Chief Minister, sustained injuries to his forehead due to the attack.
In a press statement today, NC Chief Secretary Krishna Prasad Paudel demanded the government identify the responsible in the assault and take legal action against them. The party has wished for speedy recovery of the injured leader.
