
Kavrepalanchowk, Oct 7: Mayor of Panchkhal municipality, Mahesh Kharel, has declared that he will contribute Rs 1.5 million, his three years' remuneration and allowances for the relief of disaster survivors.
He said the amount will be deposited in the local-level relief fund. The recent flooding and landslides led to significant losses in the Kavrepalanchowk district.
As per the latest updates, the disasters caused 77 deaths: 33 females, 28 males, nine boys and seven girls, and 75 injuries. Panchkhal is less affected than other local levels in the district, the mayor added.
