The Sahid Gangalal National Heart Centre (SGNHC) will provide health check-up services to the national players free of cost.
An agreement was signed to conduct free health check including the cardiac tests of all players annually contributing in international games representing the nation.
At a programme organized here today, the National Sports Council and Centre signed the agreement to this effect in presence of Minister for Health and Population, Pradeep Paudel, and Minister for Youth and Sports, Teju Lal Chaudhary.
The Centre would manage fund required for the same from its own source. The agreement would be renewed every year.
On the occasion, Minister Paudel expressed commitment to ensure more source for next year to run heath examine programme of players.
Sharing that lack of treatment expense is one of the reasons behind brain drain of players, Minister Chaudhary expressed the belief that 757 players of national teams would be benefitted from it.
The programme was inaugurated by conducting health test of Nepal's first Paralympic medalist, Palesha Goverdhan.
