Janai Purnima Festivities In Kathmandu [Photo Feature]

'Janai Purnima' also called 'Rishi Tarpani' festival is being celebrated across the country today. The festival is observed by the majority Hindus every year on the day of Shrawan Shukla Purnima all across the country.

According to the Hindu tradition, those who wear the 'Janai' (the sacred thread) around their bodies from change the sacred thread today. People receive the 'Raksha Bandhan' thread, which is tied around the wrist.
