Nepal is all set to play a T20 series against the West Indies ‘A’ team, which has arrived in Kathamndu, on Wednesday to play 5 T20 series starting on Saturday, April 27.
CAN has announced the 16-member squad led by captain Rohit Poudel. Other players include Kushal Bhurtel, Aasif Sheikh, Anil Shah, Aarif Sheikh, Sundeep Jora, DS Airee, Kushal Malla, Gulshan Jha, Lalit Narayan Rajbanshi, Karan KC, Sompal Kami, Pratish GC, Abinash Bohara, Bibek Yadav, and Aakash Chand.
Nepal will play 5 T20s against WI ‘A’ led by Captain Roston Chase. Other players include Alick Athanaze (vc), Fabian Allen, Kadeem Alleyne, Joshua Bishop, Keacy Carty, Johnson Charles, Mark Deyal, Andre Fletcher, Matthew Forde, Obed McCoy, Gudakesh Motie, Keemo Paul, Oshane Thomas, and Hayden Walsh.
WI coach Darren Sammy has taken this series as a strategy to refine the T20 squad for the World Cup at home.
The WI ‘A’ team will be coached by former West Indies international Floyd Reifer, with Rayon Griffith as his assistant.
The series was announced on the brink of the ICC T20 World Cup.
Team Nepal has just returned from Oman after playing in the in the ACC T20 Premier Cup. This series is certain to boost the Nepali player for the upcoming World Cup.
The series will begin on 27 April, Saturday at at TU International Cricket Ground, Kirtipur, 12:15 pm onwards.
Other matches will be played on 28th April, 1st, 2nd and 4th of May on the same venue.
It is the first time West Indies ‘A’ has come to Nepal to play a T20 series.
