Nepal has defeated Papua New Guinea by 85 runs in Hong Kong Men’s T20I Series. With this win Nepal has entered the final.
The next finalist will be decided by the match between host Hong Kong and Papua New Guinea later today.
Earlier Papua New Guinea won the toss and decided to bowl. With the help of 3 sixes from Bibek Yadav in last over, Nepal scored 198 runs in 20 overs losing 6 wickets. Openers Kushal Bhurtel contributed 59 off 39 runs hitting his eighth T20I half century while Binod Bhandari scored 27 off 22.
Sundeep Jora scored 56 off 26 balls to lead the team to victory. Lokesh Bam and Bibek Yadav scored 14 off 6 and 19 off 4 respectively with massive sixes. Gulshan Jha played 12 balls hitting 15 runs and remained not out.
Papuan captain Assad Vala took 2 wickets while Nosaina Pokana, John Kariko and Norman Vanua took a wicket each.
Papuan inning was restricted by Nepali bowlers in 16.1 overs when they scored 113 runs in total. Player of the match, Kushal Bhurtel took 4 wickets in his 4 overs spell spending 12 runs. Pratish GC took 2, Aakash Chand and Gulshan Jha shared 1 wicket each in their spell.
Among Papuan batsman Hiri Hiri scored 28 off 19, the highest among his fellows. Other batsmen include Sese Bau 21, Tony Ura 13, and Nosaina Pokana 12 while others scored in single digit.
Nepal will play the final match on Wednesday.
