T20I Tri-Nations Series: Netherlands Defeats Namibia

Netherlands has defeated Namibia by 59 runs in T20I Tri-Nations Series today at TU Ground, Kirtipur.

With the sensational century of Michael Levitt, 136 off 62 balls which included 10 sixes and 11 fours, the Netherlands scored 247 runs in 20 overs with the loss of five wickets and defeated Namibia by 59 runs.

Earlier the Dutch won the toss and elected to bat first at 11:30 local time. Opener right-handed batsman Levitt started hitting boundaries on the second ball of the inning playing it for six. Max O’Dowd was caught for 5, but another batsman Sybrand Engelbrecht scored 75 off 40 balls developing the strong partnership for the team.

Netherlands soared the scoreboard with 38 boundaries in total.

Namibian Ruben Trumpelmann took 2 wickets, Shikongo and Frylinck shared a wicket each. Dutch batsman Teja Nidamanuru was run out while he scored 3 sixes in 3 balls with strike rate of 600.

In response to the huge target of 248, Namibia scored 188 runs with the loss of 7 wickets. Frylinck and Green scored 42 runs each for their team. Fastest century scorer Nicole Loftie-Eaton scored 11 runs in 7 balls.

All the Dutch bowlers took a wicket to defend the target. Kingma, Klaassen, Dutt, Engelbrecht and van der Merwe, all took a wicket while van der Gugten took 2.

TU Ground today was all rained with 63 boundaries in both innings.

In this Tri-Nations T20I Series, Nepal will play against Namibia on Friday.
