UML Calls For Resignation Of 4 Ministers

The main opposition party, CPN-UML, has called for the resignation of four ministers.

Padam Giri, CPN-UML chief whip, demanded the resignations of Physical Infrastructure and Transport Minister Prakash Jwala, Health and Population Minister Mohan Bahadur Basnet, Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation Minister Sudan Kiranti, and Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Narayankaji Shrestha during a House of Representatives meeting on Sunday.

He stated that Minister Prakash Jwala, who was found guilty in the the fatal incident that took place in Balkumari, Lalitpur; Home Minister Shrestha, who ordered the firing of youths; Health Minister Basnet, who is being investigated by the authority; and Tourism Minister Kiranti, who made the controversial decision to lease Ramgram land, must resign immediately.

He further stated that the CPN-UML sought an explanation from the ruling party during the February 6 meeting, but the government is avoiding it.
