Nepali Women's Footballer Sabitra Bhandari, aka Sambaa, scored her 50th international goal in the latest game of the West Asian Football Federation's (WAFF) Women’s Championship.
Nepal Women’s Football Team scored 5 goals against Iraq in WAFF Women’s Championship on Thursday in Saudi Arabia. All five goals were scored by Bhandari being the top scorer of the tournament. Sambaa scored four goals in first half of the match and added one more in the second half.
Sambaa represents the Nepal APF Team and presently plays for the French League team En Avant Guingamp. She has been on the national team since 2014.
WAFF Women’s Championship is the biannual international women's football tournament in West Asia competed by the national teams in the West Asian Football Federation (WAFF). Eight teams are playing this year’s edition which is being hosted by Saudi Arabia. Nepal, along with Palestine, Syria, and Iraq, is in Group B.
Jordan, the defending champion, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, and Guam are in Group A. Nepal have won their first match against Syria by 4-1 on Tuesday. Nepal have already advanced to knock out stage and they will play their last group match against Palestine on Saturday.
