Court Convicts Cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane Of Rape

Kathmandu District Court has convicted Cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane guilty of rape.

Judge Shishir Raj Dhakal of the District Court convicted  Lamichhane in the rape case, on Friday.

The sentence for the guilty will be determined by the court on January 10.

According to Officer Ramu Sharma of the Kathmandu District Court, the court has concluded that the victim was not a minor.

A further hearing is necessary to assess the offense in cases of more than 3 years of jail, thus it is unclear how many years he will be sentenced to. The imprisonment, fine, and reparation that may be imposed on Lamichhane will be determined following a hearing on January 10.

Earlier, the court had sent Lamichhane to judicial custody, while the Patan High Court ordered his release on a bail of Rs 2 million.
