The District Court Kathmandu has issued an order to submit the pleading notes related to the case of cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane within a month. National cricket team member Lamichhane is accused of raping a minor.
A single bench of Judge Keshav Prasad Ghimire today ordered the public prosecutor and the lawyers who pleaded on behalf of Lamichhane to submit their respective pleading notes within a month.
Earlier, the court had sent Lamichhane to judicial custody, while the Patan High Court ordered him to be released on a bail of Rs 2 million.
Meanwhile, the Supreme Court had issued an order allowing Lamichhane to represent Nepal in tournaments held outside the country.
