The Supreme Court (SC) has issued an order to cancel the Government's decision to provide amnesty to Yog Raj Dhakal 'Regal' who was serving life in prison for a murder case.
A full bench of acting chief justice Ishwar Prasad Khatiwada, justices Sapana Pradhan Malla, and Kumar Chudal issued the verdict on Thursday.
Information officer of the SC, Govinda Prasad Ghimire, informed that the SC verdict has overturned the Government's decision to reduce Regal's prison terms.
President Ram Chandra Paudel had on the occasion of the Constitution Day reduced Regal's prison terms on the recommendation of the Council of Ministers.
Regal was serving a jail term for murdering Chetan Manandhar in 2015 with a sharp weapon (Khunda) in Nepalgunj.
