The Supreme Court has ordered a probe into the decisions made by the Council of Ministers relating the Lalita Niwas land scam.
A joint bench of Justices Anil Kumar Sinha and Kumar Chudal ordered an investigation into those involved in the Council of Ministers decision in the Lalita Niwas land embezzlement case, on Sunday.
The Supreme Court's judgment clears the way for an investigation against the then-Prime Ministers Madhav Kumar Nepal and Baburam Bhattarai, who agreed to transfer the government land of Lalita Niwas into the names of individuals.
Previously, in the lawsuit filed in the special court on February 5,2020 , the authority granted immunity to both former prime ministers, claiming that it lacked jurisdiction over the Council of Ministers.
