Rabi Lamichhane Wins Chitwan-2 By-Election

Lamichhane received 54,176 votes in the by-poll out of 78,277 votes.

The vote count for the Chitwan-2 by-election has ended today. Rabi Lamichhane, a candidate and the Rashtriya Swatantra Party Chair, has won by a wide margin in the area, reclaiming his position as MP.

Lamichhane received 54,176 votes in the by-poll out of 78,277 votes.

Jit Narayan Shrestha from the Congress received 11,214 votes, while UML's Ram Prasad Neupane  got 10,936 votes.

However, Lamichhane's victory has yet to be formally proclaimed by the election officer.

Rabi Lamichhane was elected from Chitwan-2 in the House of Representatives elections held last year. Due to his citizenship issues, the by-election was held after he lost his position as an MP.
