Rastriya Swatanta Party Chair Rabi Lamichhane is leading in the preliminary vote count in the Chitwan-2 by-election.
Candidate Lamichhane has received 1155 votes after the completion of the vote count in Ichchakamana Rural Municipality Wards 1 and 3.
According to the Election Officer's office, CPN-UML's Ram Prasad Neupane received 665 votes, while Jit Narayan Shrestha from the alliance got 588 votes.
Voting took place in 138 polling stations spread across 43 places in the constituency. The constituency has a total of 124,695 eligible voters.
According to initial estimates, 78,277 people voted in the by-election.
