Since Saturday morning, residents of Madhyapur Thimi have been joyfully celebrating Sutha Siya Jatra also known as Sindoor Jatra on the occasion of Biska Jatra.
During the jatra, processions with palanquins carrying idols of various gods and goddesses is carried out, with people smearing sindoor on each other and singing and dancing to traditional music.
