The University Bill, 2079 BS has been tabled in today's meeting of the National Assembly (NA).
Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Bimala Rai Paudyal presented the bill on behalf of Minister for Education, Science and Technology Shishir Khanal.
There is a need to establish a university for the quality development of the country by incorporating the subjects showing the country's originality in the curriculum alongside the development of information and technology, said Minister Paudyal.
The Bill is needed for the prosperity of the country, and the development of its moral norms and values, she added.
The NA next meets on January 24 at 1 pm.
