
Former Chief Justice Sushila Karki is being appointed as the Prime Minister of the interim government.
President Ram Chandra Paudel will administer the oath at the Presidential Palace, Sheetal Niwas. The oath taking ceremony is scheduled for 9 pm this evening, informed Kiran Pokharel, the press advisor of President Ramchandar Paudel.
As per the constitutional process, the President will formally appoint the interim Prime Minister prior to the swearing-in ceremony. Following her appointment, Prime Minister Karki will proceed with the formation of the Council of Ministers.
Earlier on Thursday, President Poudel convened an extensive round of consultations at Sheetal Niwas. The discussions, which continued throughout the day and into the night, included constitutional expert and former Chief Justice Sushila Karki, as well as Nepal Army Chief of Staff, Ashok Sigdel.
