Muslim community is celebrating Eid-ul-Fitr today, following the appearance of the crescent moon, which marks the end of Ramadan.

Muslims gather together in mosques to give special prayers known as Eid prayers as part of the festivities. The date of Eid-ul-Fitr changes from year to year since it is determined by the sighting of the new moon, although it is normally observed on the first day of Shawwal, the tenth month of the Islamic lunar calendar. The sighting of the crescent moon determines the exact day of this celebration.

Aside from the unique prayers and joyful festivities, there are several traditional practices related with Eid-ul-Fitr. One of the most significant is the giving of Eid al-Fitr or Zakat al-Fitr, which is a type of charity given to the poor and needy. This is traditionally provided before Eid prayers to ensure that everyone has enough to eat and rejoice throughout the holiday.

They also exchange presents and eat together with relatives and friends.  Food also plays an important role in the festivities, with famous Eid dishes like biryani, kebabs, samosas, and sweet delights .
