The Election Commission has reminded political parties not to make any decisions on supporting or opposing the vice presidential candidate during the electoral silence.
In a press release issued today, the EC drew political parties' attention to a meeting of several political parties concerning candidates and remarks made in that respect.
The EC reminded everyone that election-related activities were forbidden before 48 hours of the election day in order to ensure that the election was held in a free, fearless, transparent, and impartial atmosphere.
According to the press statement published by the EC spokesperson, political parties are not permitted to engage in any activities such as election campaigns, meetings, contacts, and assemblies, as well as appeal for donations during the silence hour.
The vice presidential election will be held on March 17.
