Devotees Flock To Shiva Temples Nationwide On Third Monday Of Shrawan

Today marks the third Monday of Shravan according to the lunar calendar, and pilgrims are gathering in droves at temples across the nation, including the iconic Pashupatinath Temple.

Every year, during the sacred month of Shrawan, huge crowds of Hindu devotees are found gathering at prominent Shiva temples, such as the Pashupatinath Temple, especially on Mondays. Devotees come to offer holy water, 'belpatra' (sacred trifoliate leaf of the bael tree), and heartfelt prayers.

The Pashupati Area Development Trust has announced that all four doors of the Pashupatinath Temple are open to accommodate the influx of visitors. Additionally, special arrangements have been made for those participating in the Bol Bomb pilgrimage, with four separate queues set up for temple entry.

In addition to Pashupatinath, devotees are lining up at other major Shiva temples in the capital, such as Gokarneshwar, Nageshwar, Doleshwar, Koteshwar, and the smaller Pashupatinath known as Makhan Mahadev located in the Basantpur Durbar area.
