Kathmandu, Jan 8: The death toll in the road accident that took place on the road at Jaharsinghpaua in Shankharapur Municipality-3, Kathmandu, has reached five.
Four people died yesterday and one more person succumbed to his injuries today, taking the death toll to five, shared District Police Range Kathmandu Spokesperson and Superintendent of Police Pawan Bhattarai. Another 28 people have been injured.
The deceased have been identified as Kamana Sharma, 49, of Kohalpur Municipality-5, Nepalgunj; Indira Limbu, 51, of Pathibhara-5, Taplejung,; Shanti Gupta, 55, of Siraha, Devendra Limbu, 65, of Panchthar, and Arjun Lamichhane, 60, of Jorpati, Kathmandu.
The road accident involved a passenger bus (Ba 4 Kha 8788) operated by Mahanagar Yatayat that fell off the road at Jaharsingh Pauwa while returning from a picnic for staffers of Nature House and Herb International Company.
Of the injured, 23 are undergoing treatment at various hospitals in Kathmandu and five have returned home after treatment.
