
Global IME Bank Limited and the Floriculture Association Nepal have entered into a formal agreement to promote the adoption of greenhouse technology in floriculture and ornamental plant production, as well as to establish an accessible and efficient credit system to support these activities.
The agreement was signed by Mr. Ashim Karmacharya, Head of Infrastructure and Project Financing at Global IME Bank, and Mr. Rajesh Bhakta Shrestha, President of the Floriculture Association Nepal.
Under the terms of the agreement, Global IME Bank will introduce specialized greenhouse loan facilities targeted at floriculture entrepreneurs and farmers. In parallel, the Floriculture Association Nepal will disseminate information regarding the bank’s agricultural loan schemes among its members.
This collaboration is expected to the productivity, encourage the adoption of greenhouse technologies, support the development of quality infrastructure, and improve overall service delivery in the floriculture sector. It is further anticipated that the initiative will motivate florists and farmers to adopt climate-resilient practices, sustainable business models, and modern technologies.
The partnership is also expected to expand financial access for florists and entrepreneurs, enabling greater investment in greenhouse technology and contributing to increased production and productivity of flowers and ornamental plants.
