The meeting scheduled for 9 a.m. today at the President's Residence to discuss the appointment of an interim prime minister has been postponed by a few hours.
Sources indicate that the participating parties require additional time for internal consultations within their respective groups, prompting the decision to delay the discussion.
President Ram Chandra Paudel had engaged in late-night consultations with various political parties, seeking their input on potential options.
Most participants in the talks have recommended appointing a new prime minister without dissolving Parliament. However, the protesting party, Gen Z, continues to advocate for the dissolution of the legislative body.
As per constitutional provisions, an individual who is not a member of Parliament cannot be appointed prime minister.
