
The joint poetry collection 'Vamsavriksha' by poet duo Prof. Purushottam Dahal and Animesh Dahal has been released. The Literary Journalists Association and Milap Publication collaborated to launch of the work in Kathmandu.
The book is a compilation of poetry by father and son. In the 115-page book, 30 poems take up 91 pages. part 'A' has 17 poems by father Purushottam Dahal, and part 'B' contains 13 poems by son Animesh Dahal.
Animesh Dahal was unable to attend the event, but Prof. Purushottam Dahal provided insight into the work. During his address, he stated that, in light of people's rising forgetfulness, the more you write, the stronger your memory becomes. About a dozen of poet Dahal's works have been published. His novels 'Shanta' and 'Kaalpatra', as well as the poetry collection 'Kalo Badalama Ujyala Paila', were previously published. These works of his were also addressed at the event.
Prof. Bishnu KC presented a critical analysis on 17 poems by Prof. Purushottam Dahal from Volume 'A.' during the event. He stated that poetry produced after 2079 BS during his stay in America expressed political distortions and discrepancies. He also delivered a poem from the collection.
Similarly, another critic, epic poet Khemnath Dahal, wrote a critical remark on 13 poems by Animesh Dahal in Volume 'B', claiming that the poems consisted of in sound and imagery.
Dr. Krishna Prasad Bhattarai, a litterateur, and Nanda Krishna Joshi, a folk artist and cultural worker, each delivered a poem from the book.
Krishna Bhusal, Chairman of Milap Publications, express his gratitude for being able to supply the poet couple with the title of the book, as well as for assuming responsibility for its publication.
On the occasion, the creator Kavi Dahal was honored with the 'Creator's Award', while the newly appointed Manoj Neupane of Garima Literary Magazine was honored. The program, in which poet Binod Dahal 'Vatsa' delivered a welcome speech, was inaugurated by Shanta Foundation Chairman Shanta Dahal, and facilitated by lyricist director Ganesh Subedi. Many renowned individuals from numerous disciplines attended the program, including writers, journalists, academics, artists, and former secretaries.
