
Bhaktapur, July 1 – The Mid Valley Education Network concluded the 2nd Mid Valley Cup SEE Futsal Tournament and the 1st Mid Valley SEE Cup Basketball Tournament, engaging recent SEE graduates in competitive sports.
The futsal tournament, held from Ashad 9–13, featured 32 teams. The Fearless Fireballs (Lyceum) won the title, defeating Vinayak Shiksha Niketan, with Team Light Futsal in third. Devin Karki of Lyceum was named Player of the Tournament. The top three teams received NPR 25,000, 15,000, and 10,000 respectively, along with trophies and medals.
The basketball tournament ran from Ashad 15–17 with 16 boys’ and 6 girls’ teams. Team Lotus won the boys’ division, followed by Team GBC and Team Saipal. Flyers won the girls’ title, defeating Team TGM. Aaryan Shrestha (Lotus) and Shriyanka Shahi (Flyers) were named Most Valuable Players. Winning teams received cash prizes between NPR 2,500 and 10,000.
Nepal Basketball Association President Bhim Singh Gurung and other national-level guests attended the closing ceremony. Mid Valley College Principal Govinda Ballab Joshi highlighted the importance of such events in promoting leadership and holistic development among youth, and committed to continuing similar initiatives.
