Kathmandu, May 19: Nepali youth boxer Abiral Ghimire has set a new record in kick boxing sport. Ghimire, also known as Himalayan Cheetah, has won bagged three international kick boxing titles, an extraordinary achievement in this field.
Boxer Ghimire clinched the title of the world famous 'K One Krush 175', a very prestigious match in the field of kick boxing, in the tournament held in Osaka city of Japan on Sunday.
In the competitive match, Ghimire routed Japanese kick boxing champion Oda Jinku in the second round.
Abiral's father and former international kick boxer and karate athlete, Dev Ghimire, said that Abiral is the first Nepali player to defeat Jinku in the ring.
Dev stated that huge numbers of Nepali diaspora in Japan and Japanese nationals were present to see the match.
For his preparations, Abiral attended a closed training in Thailand for almost one and a half months.
After winning the title, Abiral has termed it a historic moment for Nepal and himself.
Prior to this, Abiral has played several international boxing tournaments.
Currently, the Ghimire family, from Gurjudhara in Chandragiri Municipality-12, is residing in Nagoya city of Japan.
