
Seeds of maize and barley were sowed for their germination into Jamara at Hanumandhoka Durbar's Dashain Ghar amidst a special ritual ceremony on the first day of Durga Pakshya, Ghatasthapana, today.
The sowing of seeds was initiated by performing Ghatasthapana as per Vedic rituals in the Dashain Ghar at 9:16 am, the auspicious time of Ghatasthapana, determined by Nepal Calendar Determination Development Committee, said Chief of Hanumandhoka Durbar Management Office, Sandeep Khanal.
There is a tradition of performing worship ritually invoking Goddess Durga at Dashain Ghar on the behalf of the state. Worship is commenced with sacrifices at Dashain Ghar from today itself.
A special worship is performed at Hanumandhoka on Maha Asthtami and Nawami.
Meanwhile, seeds of maize and barley were sowed with rituals at Dashain Ghar of Gorkha Darbar, Kalika and Gorakhnath temples on the occasion of Ghatasthapana at 9:16 am, said main priest of Gorakhkali Temple, Sharada Prasad Bhattarai.
