Bangladesh has defeated defending champions India to book a place in the final of the SAFF U-20 football championship. Bangladesh defeated India in a tie-breaker by 4-3 goals and will face the hosts, Nepal in the final.
The second semi-final match held today at the ANFA Complex in Satdobato, Lalitpur, had to be decided through a tie-breaker after the match ended in a 1-1 tie. In the tiebreaker, Bangladesh won by 4-3.
Earlier, Bangladesh's Asadul Molla gave his team the lead by scoring a goal in the 37th minute of the game. But India leveled the score to 1-1 in the 75th minute of the match, when Gwangsar Goeri scored.
Nepal had also defeated Bhutan 4-1 in a tiebreaker in the first semi-final match held at the same venue yesterday.
The final match for the SAFF U-20 Championship title between Nepal and Bangladesh is scheduled to be held at Dasarath Stadium on coming Wednesday.
