Nepali badminton player Prince Dahal has lost to Victor Axelsen of Denmark in the Paris Olympics.
Dahal lost in straight sets 2-0 in the match held last night at Porte De La Chapelle Arena in Paris, France.
Prince lost the match Victor in straight sets of 21-8 and 21-6. Prince will now play against Ireland's Hat Nguyen on Monday and on July 30 he will play against Israel's Misa Zilberman.
Earlier on Saturday evening, Nepali table tennis star Santoo Shrestha lost in straight sets. Santoo lost 4-0 to Senegal's Ibrahim Dieu in the men's singles round. After losing 10-12 in the first set, he was defeated 3-11, 4-11 and 5-11.
Nepal has been participating in the Olympics since the 1964 Tokyo Olympics. This is the first time that a Nepali athlete is competing in badminton in the Olympics.
Later today, Sushmita Nepal from Nepal will compete in 10m air rifle in shooting while Duwana Lama will compete in 200m freestyle in swimming.
