The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has been allowed to continue expansion of pavement at New Road, one of the busiest locations in the federal capital.
The Division Road Office, Kathmandu had interfered with KMC, thereby forcing a halt on pavement works.
A division bench of judges duo Dhruba Raj Nand and Prakash Kharel at High Court, Patan issued an interim order in favour of KMC on Sunday.
KMC had initiated the expansion of footpath since May 24 after finalizing the contractor via bidding. But the Road Division obstructed the KMC from continuing it next day.
As the Road Division also wrote KMC to stop pavement expansion, it knocked High Court, Patan with a writ petition on June 9, demanding permission to continue the expansion.
