Prof. Dr. Keshar Jung Baral has been appointed as the Vice Chancellor of Tribhuvan University (TU).
Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda', Chancellor of TU and Prime Minister, appointed Baral as Vice-Chancellor on Thursday.
The Vice-Chancellor Selection and Recommendation Committee, led by Minister of Education, Science, and Technology Ashok Kumar Rai, suggested Chitra Bahadur Budhathoki, Tankanath Dhamala, and Keshar Jung Baral for the position.
Out of 43 applicants for the position of Vice Chancellor, 14 were shortlisted for the presentation and interview, and three of them were recommended for appointment following the presentation and interview.
The appointment was made based on educational credentials, training, research publications, interviews, and presentations.
Baral previously served as the Vice Chancellor of Pokhara University.
