Nepal-A was defeated by Canada-XI by 4 wickets today at Mulpani Cricket Ground in the last match of three-match series. Previously, the series was tied 1-1.
In the Mulpani Cricket Ground, Canada-XI winning the toss and chose to bowl first. Nepal scored 181 runs in 47 overs. Captain Sundeep Jora led-team started their inning with the openers Ashutosh Ghiraiya and Arjun Kumal setting the partnership of 54 runs in 13.5 overs. Ghiraiya scored 28 of 43 before being stumped while he stepped forward to play opponent captain Saad Bin Zafar’s bowl, and Kumal scored 27 off 53 while he was caught behind.
Before him, Sher Malla got trapped in LBW without a run. Similarly, Jora scored 24 off 28 and was caught behind in Dilon Heyliger pace bowl. Other batsmen named Sujan Thapaliya scored 20 off 51, Rashid Khan 19 off 25, Basir Ahamad 25 off 40, Pratish GC 19 off 20, Hemant Dhami 6 off 13 balls, Shahab Alam got duck out, and Sagar Dhakal 1 not out.
From Canadian side Kaleem Sana and Dilon Heyliger took 3 wickets each, while Ammor Khalid took 2 wickets in 2 wickets. Other bowlers Nicholas Kirton and captain Saad Bin Zafar took a wicket each.
Four Nepali players were caught out, two run out and two LBW in today’s match. Ghiraiya was stumped and Alam was bowled.
Canada-XI got the target of 182 runs in 38.5 overs losing six wickets. Opener Aaron Johnson added 42 runs on the board while batting all-rounder Nicholas Kirton scored a remarkable half century 58 off 79 not out to make the team victorious. Similarly Navneet Dhaliwal contributed 38 off 45 balls before getting by Khan in Ahmad’s bowling.
Nepali bowler Shahab Alam had an impressive spell taking 4 wickets in 10 overs spending 35 runs while Sher Malla and Basir Ahamad shared 1 wicket each.
With this win, Canada-XI bagged the three-match series against Nepal-A .
