Nepal leveled the score in the 49th minute of the match, thanks to a goal by Anjan Bista, who scored a header utilizing Erik Bista's corner kick.
The second leg of the match between the two countries will be played in Laos on October 17. The winner of this match will advance to the second round of World Cup qualifiers.
