Senior radio journalist Krishna Tamrakar passed away last night. She was 86.
Tamrakar, who worked as a news editor and newsreader in Radio Nepal, died last night while receiving treatment at Upendra Devkota Memorial, National Institute of Neurological and Allied Science in the Capital City, Tamrakar's daughter Grishma Rajbhandari confirmed.
Tamrakar had worked at Radio Nepal until 2049 BS after joining the organization in 2018 BS. In Radio Nepal, she hosted different popular programmes including Naso, Hamro Deshko Mato, Hamro Ban Hamro Jeevan and others.
After her retirement, she was also active in bird conservation, tourism sector and social service.
Late Tamrakar was dedicated to the social services by encouraging people for eye donation.
The last rites of Tamrakar would be performed by today itself, as per family sources.
