Former Prime Minister and Chairman of the CPN-UML KP Sharma Oli has accused the ruling CPN-Maoist Centre of threatening the National Human Rights Commission.

Speaking at the 3rd National Conference of the Human Rights Alliance on Tuesday, Oli claimed that the besieging, harassing, and threatening of the Human Rights Commission is going on without using the name of the Maoist centre.

President Oli also stressed being aware of the fact that the violators of human rights in Nepal talk more about human rights.

He instructed the Human Rights Alliance to fight for the protection of human rights. President Oli also alerted the Alliance to stand up and protect human rights with sincerity and dedication.

President Oli also said that Nepali people should never support the death penalty, as there was no way to correct the situation after the death penalty. He explained that the residents of the country where Buddha was born should not go in favor of the death sentence, even under any enthusiasm or provocation.
