The nomination of the vice president is set to take place today.
The Election Commission has advised candidates to file their candidacies for Vice President at the election officer's office set up at the Federal Parliament Building in New Baneshwor from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Similarly, the list of the Vice President nominees will be released from 2:00 to 3:00 pm, while the objections, if any, can be filed before 6:00 pm the same day.
Furthermore, according to the election timetable, the EC will finalize the release of the names of candidates on Sunday between 4:00 and 5:00 p.m. Prior to this, an inquiry into any objections against the nomination would be done. If a candidate wishes to withdraw his or her candidacy, he or she must do so between 1:00pm and 4:00pm.
The Election Commission has directed the election officer to register the candidacy of the Vice President whose gender and community differ from the newly elected President.
The Vice President election will take place on March 17.
