Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' has pledged to develop the Shahid Gangalal National Heart Centre (SGNHC) at Bansbari in Kathmandu as an educational academy.
Speaking at the 27th anniversary of the Centre, he said, "You have demanded to develop it as an educational academy. The government will take it seriously. You can also take information about the process from the Ministry of Health and Population. The government is committed to your demand."
Established in the memory of those martyrs who lost their lives during movements against dictatorship and tyranny, the Centre is connected with the subject of democracy and social justice aside from it being an institution to treat heart patients, he said.
"During my tenure as PM, provincial hospitals alongside special health service including heart units will be established in all seven provinces," he said.
