Congress leader Nidhi and UK mayor Chopra meet in Kathmandu

Mayor of London Borough of Southwark, Sunil Chopra and former Deputy Chairman of Nepali Congress, Bimalendra Nidhi, held a meeting.

Chopra, who came to Nepal on a private visit, met Nidhi and discussed about the continuation of the relations between the municipalities of two countries.

Pashupati Bhandari of Non-Resident Nepali Association UK, Secretary of Nationalist Congress Party Maharashtra State, Brijesh Tripathi were also present in the meeting.

After the meeting, Mayor of Nagarjuna Municipality, Mohan Basnet organized a program in his honor.

Upendra Karki, Gajendra Maharjan, Deepak Kumar Risal, Ghanshyam Giri, Mayor of Kageshwari Manohara Municipality, Godavari Municipality, Gokarneshwar Municipality, Chandragiri Municipality respectively were present in the occasion.

On the occasion, the expansion of cultural and economic relations between the municipalities of the two countries were discussed.

Indian-origin businessman Sunil Chopra who had been deputy mayor once, was elected as the mayor of London Borough of Southwark for the second time.
