Former captain of the national cricket team Sandeep Lamichhane, who was accused of rape, has been released from Sundhara Central Jail.
Patan High Court ordered the release of Lamichhane on bail of Rs. 2 million, reversing the decision of the Kathmandu district court, on Thursday.
According to Patan High Court Registrar Thagindra Kattel, Lamichhane will have to get permission from the District Police Office Kathmandu to leave the city. He is also forbidden to contact, manipulate or threaten the victim or the family.
