U.S. strikes overnight targeted multiple areas across Iran, killing at least one person and wounding several more in the country's northwest, Iranian media reported Monday.
"One person was martyred and several others were injured in a terrorist and aggressive American attack on an area southwest of Tabriz on Monday morning," said Majid Farshi, director general of East Azarbaijan province's crisis management department, quoted by state news agency IRNA.
According to Iran's semi-official Mehr news agency, several locations in the southern port city of Bushehr, home to the country's only civilian nuclear power plant, were targeted.
Several explosions have also been reported in the southwestern ports of Mahshahr and Bandar Imam Khomeini, as well as in the southern port city of Sirik, while air defense systems have been activated in the southeastern port of Konarak, said local reports.
According to Iran's Press TV, the U.S. military has also attacked the northwestern Iranian city of Tabriz.
