Chitwan, July 20: Landslides at two locations along the Prithvi Highway in Chitwan have been cleared. However, traffic towrds Dhading is still halted.
The landslides had occurred at Panidhara and Chumkhola in Phisling, part of Ichchhakamana Rural Municipality-2. The debris deposited was cleared this morning, allowing the road to reopen around 9:30 am.
Superintendent of Police Rameshwar Paudel from the District Police Office said that a landslide in the Jawang River area of Dhading has blocked the road, making it impassable for vehicles, despite the route to Chitwan being cleared.
Vehicles heading to Chitwan are currently being halted at Chumlingtar, Kurintar, and Muglin. Meanwhile, traffic from Narayangadh to Pokhara has been operating since this morning.
The local authorities had suspended vehicular movement last night due to the risk of further landslides. As a result, traffic is still halted on both the Narayangadh-Muglin road section and the Prithvi Highway.
