Chitwan, March 7: Sobita Gautam of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has won the House of Representative (HoR) election from constituency no 3 of Chitwan district by a wide margin.
According to the District Election Office, Gautam secured 59,277 votes, defeating her nearest contender Renu Dahal of the Nepali Communist Party, who garnered 20,615 votes.
Nepali Congress's Tek Prasad Gurung came third with 8,344 votes.
Likewise, Shankarraj Thapaliya of the CPN (UML) obtained 5,004 votes while Deepak Thapa Magar from the Rastriya Prajatantra Party gained 1,226 votes.
Out of 155,212 registered voters here, altogether 100,033 votes were cast in the March 5 election. Among them, 3,375 votes were invalid.
