
Orchid Care Home and Rehabilitation Center commemorated the third anniversary of its Pediatric Rehabilitation program. The event featured a range of activities aimed at promoting awareness of autism.
The celebration began with a rally designed to engage the community in understanding autism. Children, teachers, and caregivers presented captivating dances and performances, while various recreational games added a lively and inclusive atmosphere to the program.
The ‘Aksharalaya’ was inaugurated at the event with an intention to operate in a pre-school–like environment, offering structured and individualized therapy for children with special needs.
Managing Director Asmika Katuwal stated that through this initiative, referred to as Aksharalaya, the organization hopes to provide not only children but also parents with affection, support, and confidence. Awards were also presented to the winners of different competitions held during the celebration.
The anniversary program underscored the importance of autism awareness, inclusivity, and the active involvement of families and the wider community. The event was honored by the presence of Ujjwal Sharma, Executive Director of Himalaya Times, along with Kalyani Shah, former Chairperson of the Women’s Safety Pressure Group, Neelam Sharma, Pratima Bhandari, Dr. Purnima Tulsiyan, Dr. Devendra Sondharva, Subiksha Sharma, Yamuna Katuwal, Tara Bhattarai, among other distinguished guests.
